Field Day 2023 is scheduled for 24-25 June 2023. More than 40,000 hams throughout North America set up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill and service to our communities. Field Day combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual event since 1933, and remains the most popular event in ham radio. Because the radio spectrum and ionosphere know no international boundaries, we routinely make contacts well beyond North America.
This is is a chance for local amateurs to get outside and run an emergency communications centre, ostensibly in the guise of a contest, for about 48 hours. It is a chance to put up interesting experimental antennas, try new techniques and maybe even show off to fellow amateur radio operators and the public. Please get in touch with us as we plan this event - either by email, phone or drop by at the Red Apple on Sunday mornings at 9 AM.
Details of Field Day are at the ARRL website at: http://www.arrl.org/field-day#rules .
