  • Artemis II mission poster

    This poster celebrates the participation of CSA astronaut Jeremy Hansen in the historic Artemis II mission around the Moon. He will become the first Canadian and non-American to fly on a lunar mission. The poster replicates elements of Jeremy's mission patch.

  • Deep Space Food Challenge winner: Ecoaction Innovative Solutions Inc.

    Following a three-year competition, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) announced Vancouver-based Ecoation Innovative Solutions Inc. (Ecoation) as the winner of the Deep Space Food Challenge. As the Canadian grand prize winner, Ecoation will receive $380,000 for their CANGrow Modular Indoor Food Production System, designed to operate in remote environments like outer space and northern regions. CANGrow uses an innovative approach to producing a diverse range of fresh foods, including strawberries, cherry tomatoes, mycelial meat substitute, etc. With the potential to generate over 700 kg of nutrient-dense food annually, the system maximizes its produce and high-quality protein sources with minimal resources.

    On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse unfolded over Canada, the United States and Mexico. As the Moon aligned perfectly between Earth and the Sun, temporary darkness swept across parts of the country, captivating countless spectators. Fortunately, Canadian Space Agency headquarters in Longueuil, Quebec, found itself on the path of totality, affording the opportunity to capture a mesmerizing timelapse of the event.

The Guardian reports that the BBC has restored shortwave services to the Ukraine. Apparently access to its website has dropped to 17% of normal levels.  The Russian media regulator Roskomnadzor has restricted access to the BBC website from Russia.
